American born, Mexico-raised singer, songwriter and actor Pepe Aguilar first sang on stage when he was three years old, and essentially has never left. As the son of Mexican music and film stars Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, Pepe did have a leg up on other aspiring artists, but he's long been his own man. After first gravitating toward rock music as a teen, he became a music producer in the '90s and attained stardom in his own right with 1998's Por Mujeres Como Tu, an album of romantic ballads. Over the years he's grown legions of fans and sold hundreds of thousands of tickets thanks to his ability to sing in traditional Mexican ranchera and mariachi styles while also easily switching gears into pop music. It's a style that has won him multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy awards, and has helped to sell more than 12 million albums over the course of his career. Aguilar has a huge following in Southern California, a region he tours regularly, but he's also played concerts in many other parts of the US. Aguilar's 2013 album, Lastima Que Sean Ajenas, is a tribute to famed ranchera singer Vicente Fernandez.
